A MAN suspected of driving a stolen car into revellers outside a Rochdale nightclub has handed himself into police.

Lee Bradley (26) surrendered to detectives at Chadderton Police Station at 9pm last night and was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said the 26–year–old man remained in custody awaiting interview.

Up to 25 people were injured, with 14 taken to hospital, when the high-powered Saab drove 200 yards along the pavement outside Dali Bar at 2.10am on October 17.

Police say revellers were “knocked down like skittles” by two men who targeted door staff at the club after they were ejected for causing trouble.

The car was found abandoned around two hours later in Albert Royds Street, Rochdale, at 4.20am.

Seven men and seven women were taken to hospitals in Oldham, North Manchester and Bury by ambulance, including one with a fractured skull.

All the injured who were treated in hospital were discharged within a few days.

Officers launched a number of public appeals to trace Mr Bradley, who is thought to be from the Rochdale area.

Chief Supt Jon Rush said: “We know there was some kind of altercation in the Dali Bar whereby two men were asked to leave. There were dozens of people coming out of the bar and these people were literally knocked down like skittles. A really, really deliberate act. There’s no doubt about that.”

A 26-year-old man, arrested at the time of the incident on suspicion of attempted murder has been bailed until November 15.
