Henry Akhigbe

THIS is the man police are hunting in connection with the rape of a schoolgirl in Oldham.

Henry Akhigbe (26) is believed to be involved in the rape of the 14-year-old at a house in Copster Hill Road, Oldham, on Saturday February 6.

He was arrested, interviewed and released on bail pending further inquiries until May but failed to answer bail and his whereabouts are currently unknown. Born in Nigeria, Akhigbe has been living in Oldham on a student Visa. Police believe he could now be anywhere in the country and are asking the public not to approach him directly.

Detective Constable Tim Hegarty, from the Oldham Sexual Crime Unit, said: “We want people to take a good look at Akhigbe’s picture and tell us if they have seen him or know of his whereabouts.”
