Kick Racism out of football
FOOTBALL brought youngsters together to help kick racism out of Oldham.
The West Oldham Co-operative Trust — including Hathershaw, Holy Rosary, Broadfield and St Martin’s schools — worked together on the Kick Racism Project at the Honeywell Centre.
The event included playing football, studying some famous black footballers and designing posters. There was also a question-and-answer session.
Hathershaw College assistant head teacher Lorna Philip said: “We have a real tradition in the area of celebrating this event and recognising the diversity and cultures of our youngsters.”
The project was a joint venture between Oldham Athletic Football Club and the schools.
