Kicking off with Pudsey
Pudsey Bear is back and is on a mission to make Oldham’s charity efforts the best ever.
The famous cuddly mascot was joined by Chaddy the Owl at one of the town’s first fundraisers for this year’s Children in Need campaign.
Stopping off at the Victoria Brook Nursery in Chadderton, Pudsey whipped up a football frenzy among youngsters as they stepped up to the penalty spot for a sponsored shoot-out.
Sticking with this year’s slogan “Show Your Spots”, staff and children adorned the nursery with brightly coloured polkadots as part of their bid to raise more than £1000.
Cameras from the BBC were also on hand to film their efforts to be screened during the night-long extravaganza show on Friday November 19.
Nursery staff now plan to auction off a signed Latics football donated by the club and are sending Pudsey to do a collection at tomorrow’s game at Boundary Park.
