A great walk in China
Date published: 12 November 2010
INTREPID adventurers Monica Thomas and Linda Bradbury enjoyed the trip of a lifetime — and it was all in the name of charity.
The fearless pair tackled the Great Wall of China, a feat which saw them walk for eight hours a day for five days.
Monica (66) and Linda (63) are long-standing volunteers at Dr Kershaw’s Hospice in Royton and completed weeks of training to complete their mammoth mission.
All their hard work and effort paid off as the dedicated pair raised £11,066 for the hospice.
Monica (left) and Linda presented the mammoth cheque after their mammoth effort to Brian Hurst, the hospice’s fund-raising co-ordinator.
