ROBBER . . . the man is captured on CCTV
A MAN stole booze from a Failsworth off-licence then went back two hours later and robbed the shop at knifepoint.
Police have issued CCTV images of a man they want to speak to in connection with the incidents at Raja Off Licence in Hardman Lane.
The thief went into the store posing as a customer and picked up five bottles of booze. He asked the shopkeeper to get him a crate of alcohol from the back. While distracted, he stole the bottles.
The raider returned two hours later, this time covering his face with a handkerchief and brandishing a knife.
He threatened the cashiers and then stole four more bottles from the fridge, before running out and dropping one of the bottles as he fled.
The robber is white, about 5ft 10in tall, with a shaven head and wore a turquoise and grey striped jumper, black tracksuit bottoms with a motif on the left leg and white trainers. The incident took place on August 30.
Det Con Simon Moyles said: “To intimidate the cashiers with a knife just for booze really is an act of desperation and we need to catch this man before he can do it to anyone else.”
Anyone with information should call police on 0161-856 4553 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800-555 111.
