A new group for parents of children with additional educational needs has been set up in Oldham.
Parents of Oldham In Touch (POINT) provides help and information and is holding an information event at the Link Centre in Union Street tomorrow. Anyone who has a child with additional needs can drop in between 10am and 2pm.
The organisation has two parents as co-chairmen, Andrew Robinson and Moira Fields.
They said: “This is a real opportunity for parents to gather lots of valuable information about the education services which are currently available for their children.”
Services available on the day will cover all aspects from pre-school to college and beyond.
Andrew and Moira said: “As parents of children with additional needs ourselves we are absolutely delighted that so many providers will be represented at this event.
“POINT wants to ensure that all parents of children with additional needs living in or accessing services in Oldham are supported and have a strong voice in shaping services for the future.”
For more information about POINT contact Anne Grout, the parent involvement officer, on 0161-770 1042 or email pointoldham@hotmail.co.uk .
