Kick off for sports charity
Date published: 26 November 2010
FREE sporting fun will be on offer in Oldham town centre tomorrow to mark the launch of a health charity.
National charity StreetGames aims to make sport more accessible to young people from all walks of life and is pumping money into increasing opportunities in Oldham.
Joint funding from the charity, Community First Oldham and Sport4Life has already seen initiatives put in place including netball coaching, increased boxing sessions and indoor climbing with the Oldham Climbing Club.
The idea is to make sports more affordable for the borough’s youngsters and support established clubs financially by providing equipment and help with running costs.
