Prize-time for junior cricketers

CRICKET:
BUDDING cricket stars lined up to receive their awards at the Saddleworth and District Junior League presentation night.
Under-13s talent Joe Smith-Butler topped the batting averages with 342 runs, at a stunning average of 85.5.
It was this performance which helped his Bamford side take the Under-13s Cup.
Luke Corbett took the bowling averages prize with 19 wickets at 6.1 for Moorside.
Droylsden’s Evan Wood claimed the under-15s batting trophy for his 298 runs at 49.67.
Friarmere all-rounder Adil Mahmood took bowling honours in the age group with 18 wickets at 8.56. The teenager, who bowls medium quick for his age, is the son of the Khalid Mahmood, a former first-class cricketer for Lahore.
It was Milnrow’s night to shine having been victorious in the under-17s Wilkinson League Cup and The Romida Cup.
Josh Tetlow’s 29 wickets for the double-winners saw him steal the bowling averages with 5.96. Lee Goddard picked up the batting prize with 228 runs at 45.6 for Stayley.
