McDonalds issues apology
Date published: 30 November 2010
McDONALD’S failed to remove racist graffiti from its Huddersfield Road restaurant despite a string of complaints.
Now the company has apologised and taken action, after being contacted by the Chronicle.
Paul Winterbottom (47), of Hillside Avenue, Greenacres, said: “I complained five times. The first time I mentioned it they covered it up with a poster, but you could still see it from the outside.
Paul’s friend Ishtraq Ahmed also complained.
The glass has now been replaced and a statement from McDonald’s said: “We are terribly sorry for this unfortunate incident. After recently refurbishing the restaurant, we moved our posters from the window, which meant it was unfortunately possible to see this unpleasant graffiti. It was a genuine mistake.”
