Carers can benefit from special event

THOUSANDS of people looking after sick or disabled relatives at home can discover if they are missing out on vital benefits and support at a special event tomorrow.
The Carers’ Rights Day takes place at Oldham Carers’ Centre, at The Phoenix Centre, Phoenix Street, Oldham, between 10am and 3pm.
Oldham Carers Centre is one of nearly 1,000 groups across the UK which is taking part in the national awareness day organised by Carers UK.
On the day there will be information stands from the Department of Work and Pensions, Job Centre Plus, Moneymadeclear, Crossroads Care and Social Care Teams.
Oldham Carers Voice will be hosting an extra question and answer event in the afternoon with guest speakers from the local authority.
Carers UK has produced a booklet with information about carers’ entitlements called Looking After Someone? — A guide to carers’ Rights and Benefits.
