Christmas cheer . . . Elliot becomes an elf for the day to help out Santa on his stops around Oldham
Elliot is an elf for a day!
CHRISTMAS came early for little Elliot West when he won the chance to help Santa by being an elf for a day
The seven-year-old, a pupil at East Crompton St James Primary, took part in a caption competition with first prize being the opportunity to help Father Christmas spread some festive cheer.
Elliot joined Santa at Christmas Fair at the Laurel Bank Day Centre in Kershaw Street, Shaw, on Saturday.
Santa picked Elliot up in a specially-transformed festive bin wagon.
The pair opened the fair before Santa presented his special new friend with a trophy and prize for his efforts.
Councillor Jackie Stanton, Cabinet member for adult services and health, said: “The service users and staff at Laurel Bank put a tremendous amount of effort into organising the fair.
“The centre helps older citizens to keep their independence, have regular social contact and maintain their community lives in projects like this.
“A huge amount of imagination and creativity has gone into making this a success.
“I am absolutely certain that Elliot enjoyed his day immensely — he was fantastic.
“As for Santa, I would like to thank him personally for taking time during his busy schedule to attend.”
