HOW the tracks will look approaching Oldham Way from Manchester Street. The original plans proposed a tunnel at this point
First view of revised set-up
THIS is the first image showing how the Manchester Road roundabout will be transformed by the arrival of Metrolink in Oldham.
The new plan, which has been altered from the original design, will be available to view at Oldham Sixth Form College on Monday (4-7pm). The original proposal had trams going underneath the roundabout in a tunnel, but trams now go on the surface and enter a cutting in John Street before arriving at the stop in King Street.
Traffic lights will also be installed at the roundabout and a new link road will be created to allow vehicles access to Oldham Way.
Anyone who is unable to attend but would like further information can phone 0161-244 1555 or email future.metrolink@gmpte.gov.uk
