A WOMAN has died after being hit by a car in Chadderton yesterday.
The pedestrian, believed to be in her 30s, was struck by a Peugeot 307 at the junction of Spencer Street and Old Lane at 5.10pm.
She was taken to hospital but died a short time later. The car stopped near-by and the driver needed medical attention.
Spencer Street was closed to traffic between Old Lane and Block Lane for several hours. Anyone with information is asked to call police on 0161-856 8473.
