Marriage sham admitted
Date published: 17 December 2010
AN Oldham woman who wed a Nigerian man in Accrington in a sham marriage to help him stay in this country is facing jail.
Ingrid Gulasova (38) admitted assisting unlawful immigration to a member state on June 18, when she appeared at Burnley Crown Court.
Her groom, Adegboyega Adekunle (35), of no fixed address, admitted possessing a fake Nigerian passport with intent, perjury and obtaining leave to enter or remain in the UK by deception. His case was adjourned until January 10.
Gulasova, of Roundthorn Road, Oldham, was bailed until January 28, for a pre-sentence report.
Judge Beverley Lunt warned her: “You must understand clearly that the most likely outcome is a sentence of imprisonment.”
