Hunt for bowling club arsonists
Date published: 23 December 2010
BURNED DOWN: Diggle Bowling Club
POLICE are appealing for help in tracking down arsonists who attacked Diggle Bowling Club.
Club members watched in dismay on Tuesday night as the cabin used for storage equipment went up in flames.
The burnt-out shell was all that was left of the building after officers spent three hours putting out the blaze.
Insp Danny Milovanovic said: “We are treating this as a deliberate attack.
“Thankfully no-one was hurt but obviously the people who use the bowling green are very upset.
“Any arson attack has the potential to have devastating consequences as no-one can control a fire, so we are treating this very seriously.”
Detectives are appealing for information to contact Oldham CID on 0161-856-8951 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
