A LUCKY pair of radio fans from Oldham will be taking over the BBC airwaves with their own shows.
Julie Wood, a university lecturer and 67-year-old Vincent Gillibrand got the chance to sit in the presenter’s chair after winning a competition run by BBC Radio Manchester.
Over 300 potential presenters auditioned earlier this year when they were asked to jump in the back of a special “Takeover Taxi” and give a one minute answer to a random question.
Ecstatic Julie said:“I love people and radio but I never thought I would get the chance.”
Vincent saw the taxi in Shaw and decided to give it a go.
He said: “I had nothing to lose I was really surprised at being selected, but thoroughly enjoyed presenting my own show.”
Each winner’s show, will be broadcast on January 3.
