PROUD families registering their new-borns are now being given the chance to enrol with their local children’s centre in a bid to promote the free council service to new parents.
New mum and dad Liam McAiney and Joanna Finch were the first to sign up as part of the new scheme being piloted by registrars at Chadderton Town Hall.
Deputy registrar Stuart Ogden was on hand to give the delighted couple a useful starter pack to help them give their little bundle of joy, Kobey McAiney, the best start in life.
Children’s centres act as a one-stop-shop for services such as antenatal, adult learning, health visitors and breast feeding support.
Councillor Jack Hulme, said: “Through our children’s centres we aim to ensure that all youngsters receive the best possible start in life.”
