Driver seriously hurt in crash

A MAN suffered serious injuries after his car crashed into a roundabout in Oldham.
Fire-fighters from Chadderton and paramedics were called to Featherstall Road North, at the Tesco roundabout, at 7.50am yesterday.
Fire-fighters lifted the unconscious driver from the wrecked Ford Fiesta and he was taken to the Royal Oldham Hospital.
The 29-year-old had suffered head and pelvic injuries and remained in hospital this morning in a serious condition.
No other vehicles were involved. The road was closed for much of the morning.
Police officers investigating the cause of the collision are appealing for any witnesses to contact the road policing unit at Chadderton on 0161-856 8473.
