Meacher’s ‘fight cuts’ speech

KEYNOTE speaker . . . Michael Meacher
Oldham West and Royton MP Michael Meacher will be a keynote speaker at a Greater Manchester Against Cuts meeting.
Organised by the Greater Manchester TUC, it will be held at the Friends’ Meeting House, Mount Street, in Manchester on January 22.
It is supported by a host of community organisations, trade union branches, political organisations, student groups and anti-cuts coalitions.
Community organisations, Trades Councils, political organisations, and concerned individuals from Greater Manchester are also invited.
Throughout the day there will be 12 workshops, a question time, and a panel of speakers.
They also include Julie Hilling, newly-elected MP for Bolton West, Peter Cranie from the Green Party, Amanda Walters, students’ campaigns officer for the University of Manchester Students’ Union, Ian Wright, Unite convenor at Heinz and Derek Barton of the North West Pensioners’ Association.
