Last chance to apply
Date published: 13 January 2011
OLDHAM Business Leadership Group has issued a last-minute reminder for those thinking about volunteering at the 2012 Olympic Games — do it today!
That’s because the closing date for applications has been extended — but only to tomorrow, January 14.
The OBLG has offered to help with funding if applicants are worried about the expense of volunteering.
Log on to the London 2012 website at www.london2012.com and follow the links to Manchester volunteer.
Applicants will then have to go through a regional selection process and the most appropriate volunteers will then be selected as “Games Makers”.
Anyone who applies and needs help with funding should contact the OBLG’s June Smith (june.smith@oldham.gov.uk or text 07894 599379).
The 2012 London Olympics run from July 27 to August 12.
