A DETACHED bungalow in Grasscroft is to be turned into a day school.
The building at 164 Oldham Road will be registered with the Department for Education to teach up to 12 pupils between 8.30am and 4.30pm.
There were four letters of objection from neighbours complaining that it would cause a disturbance.
Alan Chorlton, speaking on behalf of a neighbour, said a school was not appropriate for the residential area and there were road safety concerns regarding a fast, busy road with a poor accident record.
But planning officers said the hours of operation were not excessive and it was unlikely to generate a significant level of activity.
