Murder probe

A MAN was arrested this morning on suspicion of murder in Oldham.
Around 9.20am the 46-year-old walked into Oldham police station to report a murder.
Officers went to a flat on Middleton Road — on the Oldham and Chadderton border — and found the body of a man.
The 46-year-old was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody for questioning. Inquiries are continuing.
Oldham Chief Supt Tim Forber said: “I understand there will be some concern in the community and there will be extra officers in and around the area if residents what to speak to us.
“Inquiries are at a very early stage.”
