Smyths takes toy gong

Smyths Toys Superstores, which has a branch at the Centre Retail Park at the old Elk mill site on Broadway, is celebrating the company’s triumphant victory at the Toy Industry Awards.
The multi-national beat retail giants Tesco, Asda and Toys ‘R’ Us to the coveted title of Toy Retailer of the Year at a prestigious London event.
Smyths was also presented with an award for Best Multiple Retailer of the Year, recognising all Smyths outlets across the UK.
Oldham store manager Noel Aston said: “We are overwhelmed with the outcome of the evening and to be officially recognised for excellence by our industry peers.
“Staff have been working extremely hard to achieve great service for customers and we would like to thank everyone in the area for supporting us.”
