Father-of-three murder charge

A MAN has been charged with murder after a father-of-three was stabbed to death at a block of flats in Middleton Road.
Dale Ross, (46) of Middleton Road, was appearing at Oldham Magistrates Court today after a body was discovered at the property on the Oldham and Chadderton border on Friday. The victim has been identified as 51-year-old Anthony Dale, also of Middleton Road.
A post-mortem examination concluded that the he died of a single stab wound to the chest.
At around 9.20am on Friday a man walked into Oldham Police station and reported the killing. Police surrounded the flats, with officers from the Crime Scene Investigation attending the scene.
Today Mr Dale’s devastated family paid tribute through a police statement.
They said: “Tony was a fantastic and caring father to his three sons, soulmate to Jane, and a loving son.
“He brought so much fun and happiness to so many that knew him. We are devastated by the fact that he was taken so tragically from us. His memory will live with us all forever.”
