Police in hunt for hammer raiders

POLICE are hunting hammer-wielding robbers who threw it at a member of staff before making off with a till drawer and cash from a Shaw off-licence.
The two thieves struck shortly after 9.30pm on Sunday at Bargain Booze, Duchess Street.
They entered the shop armed with a claw hammer and a fire extinguisher, and threatened staff at the off-licence while demanding cash. The men police are searching for were described as white. One was 6ft tall, of medium build and wore a black hooded top. His accomplice was 5ft 10in tall, stocky, and wore a black hooded jacket.
Anyone who was in the area at the time of the robbery, has any information to help track those responsible, or has seen the cash register drawer, which may have been dumped, should contact Oldham CID on 0161-856 8951 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800-555 111.
