HOLLINWOOD Station — revamp
KEY sites are being prepared across Oldham for the arrival of Metrolink.
The last train travelled along the Oldham loop line in October, 2009, and the first trams are expected later this year.
Oldhamers have already seen Mumps Bridge demolished in readiness for Metrolink trams to run through the town centre from 2014.
Until then, trams will travel along the old loop line on new tracks every six minutes during the day and every 12 minutes at off-peak times.
The old Mumps Station will eventually be replaced by an impressive park and ride facility on the site of the former B&Q store and other stations along the line are being refurbished to accommodate tram travel.
