A DEDICATED member of the Oldham Royal Artillery Association has died aged 78.
Jim Bradbury, of Sportsman’s Drive, Fitton Hill, had been ill for the past five years and was diagnosed with cancer eight months ago. He died at the Royal Oldham Hospital on February 21.
Mr Bradbury joined the local Royal Artillery Association 20 years ago and became a more active member when his wife, Olga, died 16 years ago. The great-grandfather, who also loved fishing, was a regular poppy appeal collector and attended Remembrance services every year.
Daughter Jan Broadbent said: “Dad was a loving man who lived for his family. He was very sociable and loved to be in company.”
Mr Bradbury leaves daughter Jan, son Brad, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
His funeral will take place at Oldham Crematorium, Hollinwood, on Monday at 1pm.
