Bank worker jailed for £55k scam

A CLARKSFIELD man has been jailed for two years after pleading guilty to a £55,000 fraud scam.

Amar Naseem, of Kingsley Road, worked as a call-taker at the Royal Bank of Scotland in Manchester city centre.

The 24-year-old set up online and telephone banking accounts for customers and passed on the pin numbers and passwords to a third party who then transferred funds into other accounts.

It is estimated that 13 fraudulent transactions were made on three customers’ accounts between November 25, 2008, and September 15, 2009, totalling around £55,000.
