Man battered with bar in terror attack at home

A MAN was hit over the head with a crowbar in his Failsworth house by a robber who stole his watch and car.
Three men burst in through the front door as the 23-year-old victim was sitting on the sofa at his home in Emily Close.
One, armed with a crowbar, demanded money and the man’s Rolex watch. He punched him in the face twice and hit him over the head with the crowbar.
The robber took the man’s watch off his wrist, while one of the other robbers stood over the man’s father. The third robber, who was holding a baseball bat, ran up the stairs, ransacked one of the bedrooms and took the box for the watch.
The victim managed to run to a neighbour’s house to raise the alarm but all three robbers escaped in the victim’s BMW 318i M Sport car after taking his keys. The car is worth more than £10,000 and the watch a few thousand pounds.
The raid happened at around 8.15pm on Thursday, January 20. Police are now appealing for the public’s help in tracing the robbers and have released an image of a similar watch.
Det-Con Simon Halliwell, based at Oldham CID, said: “Fortunately, the victim wasn’t seriously injured but it is vital we trace these robbers because they had no qualms about using violence to take what wasn’t theirs. We’ve made extensive inquiries since this robbery took place and now we’d like the community to help us find these men. If you saw or know anything that might be relevant or have been offered a Rolex watch or any of the other items, please contact us.”
