MINE’S a pint . . . Marco Pierre White with his new beer
LOCAL brewery J W Lees has teamed up with top TV chef Marco Pierre White to create a new all-malt British beer.
The Michelin-starred chef put in an appearance at the Northern Bar and Restaurant Show at Manchester Central (formerly G-Mex) to take a swig of new tipple The Governor.
It was the first time the Middleton Junction-brewed beer had been served outside the brewery.
There was a rush to the Lees stand as Marco — famous for ITV’s Hell’s Kitchen — was in the building. Visitors flocked to get their photo taken with the fiery chef and to sample the beer.
The Governor — named after Marco’s greyhound — is due for launch in the spring as a draught cask ale and in 500ml bottles.
