Twestival to get Oldham noticed
Date published: 08 March 2011
Social networking will give Oldham the chance to be noticed on a global stage.
Twestival Oldham, a new Twitter Festival, will take place on March 24 and organisers are hoping for a double celebration.
A duo of events will take place to raise money for Oldham Mountain Rescue.
The first is called the Sunlight Twestival and will take place at the Earl Business Centre in Dowry Street from 4pm to 6pm.
Dance workshops and demos, music, cookery demos from an award winning chef, face painting and craft workshops will make up the bill with entry fees ranging from 50p to £10.
This will be followed by the After Dark Twestival at Boundary Park’s Corner Flag Suite with a raffle, auction and a local themed quiz from 6pm - 9pm.
A giant twitter wall will let Oldhamers link up with fellow revellers at simultaneous parties in iconic cities such as Paris and New York.
