WOODLAND walk: Dunwood Park
THE regeneration of Shaw’s Dunwood Park with lottery cash has taken a step nearer.
A firm has been chosen to restore two buildings when the park is transformed with a £1 million grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
Armitage Construction will carry out the work and rejuvenate the buildings into facilities accessible to the whole community.
As part of the beauty spot’s major facelift the bowls pavilion will be refurbished and the “Gardeners Bothy” will be restored and extended to form community rooms and public toilets.
The work is expected to begin this month and the transformation complete in time for the park’s centenary celebrations in September, 2012.
