The cat that got creamed

BUSY mum . . . Matilda and the eight kittens
SPARE a thought for this new mum whose brood has just doubled to eight.
Exhausted Matilda is caring for her own four kittens as well as with another four she has fostered after an influx of kitties at the RSPCA’s Rhodes Bank shelter in Mumps.
Branch manager Mandy Tierney said: “Matilda wasn’t very friendly at first and would not let us near her really.
“But we know the best thing for kittens is to put them with a foster mum and now four has become eight and she is looking after them all!”
Meanwhile, another four kittens were brought in two weeks ago after being found in a rubbish skip. The kittens won’t be put up for adoption until they are eight-weeks-old.
The centre provides cheap neutering. Neutering costs up to £25 but the first 20 people who phone or call in to the Rhodes Bank branch can have their cat neutered for free. Call 0300 1111333.
