The trial of four men accused of murdering 21-year-old Junaid Khan scheduled for next week has been postponed.
Kashif Khan (25) and Liaquet Khan (28) both of Worcester Street, Werneth; Syed Naveed Shabir (27) of Coppice Street, Werneth and Milad Finn (22) of Cheadle Hulme, appeared yesterday at Liverpool Crown Court.
Junaid Khan, of Cotton Mill Crescent, Werneth, died after being shot in the car park of a doctor’s surgery in Block Lane, Chadderton, on July 8, 2009.
The defendants were due to stand trial next week at Manchester Crown Court but because of insufficient time to hear the case it has now been postponed by Mr Justice Royce.
Kashif Khan and Liaquet Khan also face a charge of possession of a firearm, and Milad Finn is charged with making an untrue statement to obtain a passport.
A provisional new trial date at Manchester Crown Court has been fixed for June 20 and the men were further remanded in custody until April 1 when there will be an application to extend the custody time limits.
