Jordan chomps his way to record

FAILSWORTH food fan Jordan Ryan has made the record books thanks to his love of chicken nuggets.

The 21-year-old scoffed an impressive 19 nuggets in just three minutes — a nugget every 10 seconds — to earn his place in the Guinness Book of Records.

Jordan, a former Failsworth School pupil, also raised £126 for Children in Need as colleagues at Manchester law firm Quill Pinpoint sponsored his mammoth efforts.

He said: “It started as a laugh with workmates. We were looking at the Guinness World Records website and when I saw the record for chicken nugget eating was 15 in three minutes, I said I could beat it and it just went from there.

“When I was actually doing the challenge I had to make sure each nugget had gone before I put the next one in my mouth. I wasn’t allowed to cram loads in at once.

“I really liked chicken nuggets before I did the challenge but I’ve not been so keen since.”
