AN Oldham-based housing association is to feature in a popular TV series.
Neighbourhood Watched is a set of four 45-minute programmes, which includes the work of housing officers from Oldham landlords, Aksa Housing.
Filmed during 2010 by Raw Television, the series follows staff in their everyday jobs and in the unusual tasks facing social housing providers.
Stories are told from residents’ perspectives as well as by the staff.
The first episodes of the series broadcast earlier this month featured First Choice Homes, Oldham and attracted more than 2.3m viewers.
Aksa’s director of neighbourhoods, Mushtaq Khan, said: “There’s an overall shortage of accommodation, but no shortage of stories to tell.”
The programme featuring the work of Aksa Housing is to be broadcast on BBC One on Tuesday, at 10.35pm.
