A Pakistani man has been jailed for 60 years for kidnapping Sahil Saeed, the Shaw schoolboy who was held for 12 days.
Sahil was snatched during an armed raid as he was preparing to fly back to Manchester in March 2010, after a two-week visit to his grandmother's house in Jhelum, Pakistan, with his father.
Court official Fayaz Haider said the court handed down the verdict on Thursday.
The court in Rawalpindi also ordered that all belongings and property of his kidnapper, Imran Husain, be seized.
The five-year-old Rushcroft Primary School pupil was released unharmed, after robbers demanded a £100,000 ransom which was paid by his father, Raja Saeed, after the family cleared their savings and sold jewellery.
A number of arrests were also made in Europe in an Interpol sting as the money was handed over.
