A TOWN centre night club has given a £4,876 boost to an appeal which will help the borough’s most vulnerable babies and children.
Liquid and Envy in Retiro Street donated the funds to In Your Hands, which aims to raise £200,000 for equipment for a pioneering super centre at the Royal Oldham Hospital.
The facility, which is due for completion in December, 2012, will be one of three regional centres providing the highest level of care to sick and premature babies.
The donation from Liquid and Envy will fund a vapotherm precision flow machine which helps to provide oxygen to babies who have difficulty breathing.
Dr Bibian Ofoegbu, consultant neonatologist at The Royal Oldham Hospital, said: “The vapotherm machine is an exciting new piece of equipment and on behalf of Pennine Acute Trust I would like to say a big thank-you to the Liquid and Envy night club and its staff for this donation.”
The money was donated through Luminar Leisure – the club’s management company – which runs The Echo Trust.
Echo is the company’s charity organisation and is supported by customers and staff. It makes regular donations to children’s hospitals across the UK.
