GONE FISHING: Fishing for Fun at Moston Brook
IT’S thumbs up from residents who went fishing for fun at the final Moston Brook Environmental Events Team day in Failsworth.
More than 50 people of all ages attended the fishing event along the Rochdale Canal organised by Groundwork Oldham and Rochdale.
Four qualified fishing instructors from the Community Angling Regeneration Project provided one-to-one taster sessions aimed at encouraging young people to take up one of the country’s most popular pastimes and learn about the importance of conserving precious habitats and species.
Each participant received a free fishing starter kit to take away and they also had the opportunity to join in a bug-hunting session across the site.
Rebekah Beresford, from Groundwork Oldham and Rochdale, displayed a collection of live tropical spiders and insects for visitors to look at on the day.
