Price of cremations

Following our story of March 30, we have been asked to point out that while the cost of cremation in Oldham has risen by 20 per cent, from £460 in December to £550 from April 1, the actual charge to local people has been £480 (a rise of 4.3 per cent) since January. The interim rise was in line with a national increase to cover inflation.
