Woman dies after collision with lorry

A 46-YEAR-OLD woman has died following a road accident in Chadderton shortly after 10.30am yesterday.
The woman, from Middleton, was in collision with a lorry on the northbound carriageway of Greengate. She was taken to hospital but died a short time later.
Greengate was closed near to its junction with Victoria Avenue while accident investigation work by police took place.
Sgt Lee Westhead, of the Road Policing Unit, said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area around the time of the collision.
“I am particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have seen or spoken to the woman. She was wearing a distinctive white coat when this incident happened.
“We are doing all we can to establish how the collision occurred and are appealing to the public to help us.”
