Stun gun raid
Date published: 07 April 2011
A SHOP assistant was shot with a stun gun by callous thieves who stole cash.
Two Asian men went into Chris’s Off Licence and Convenience Store, Greenacres Road, Greenacres, with their hoods up and threatened the shop assistant with the weapon.
The stun gun was discharged and the woman felt it hit her in the stomach. As she was subdued, the offenders helped themselves to cash and then fled.
The woman suffered no long-lasting injuries from the robbery at 7.30pm on Monday. Staff say the brave worker has recovered and wants to continue working and put the frightening incident behind her.
Det Con Michael Patterson said: “Those responsible are clearly reckless enough to have no problem with using violence to get what they want.”
Call police on 0161-856 8951 or Crimestoppers on 0800-555 111.
