Blueprint for land planning
Date published: 08 April 2011
Oldham’s planning blueprint — a guide for future development and land use — will go before an inspector in June.
Oldham Council is working on the plan called the Local Development Framework (LDF). Part of it is a joint core strategy and development policies document, the Joint DPD for short.
The council consulted with members of the public on the final draft Joint DPD during the autumn, and will now submit it to planning inspector Susan Holland, along with comments from the consultation.
She will hold a pre-hearing meeting prior to the examination on April 21 at 2pm in the council chamber to explain and discuss the procedural and administrative matters.
Hearings will start on June 2 in the Lees Suite at the civic centre.
Elaine McLean, executive director economy, place and skills, said: “We are hoping for a successful examination and look forward to being able to use these planning policies later on this year.
“Thanks to everyone who has helped us prepare the LDF.”
For updates and further information about the LDF, and also to view the document, log on to the council’s website www.oldham.gov.uk or visit any local library or Access Oldham at the Civic Centre. For details of the pre hearing call 07834 311040.
