Going down

YOUNGSTERS with a head for heights took part in a vertigo-inducing charity challenge to raise funds for the Mayor’s Charity Appeal.
It was helmets and harnesses at the ready for members of Oldham Youth Council who took part in a sponsored abseil down the Civic Centre yesterday.
The volunteers tried not to look down as they stepped over the side and began their descent, all 200ft of it.
Staff from Oldham Council’s Integrated Youth Services outdoor education team ran the abseil.
