FRIDAY nights will be a fun-filled affair for Oldham youngsters thanks to a new community grant.
The Loft 115 Youth Club has been handed £400 by the Co-operative’s Community Fund, which has allowed the club to invest in a new television and Wii console.
Young members cheered the arrival of the new equipment which will complete their new Chill Out Zone at their base at Greenacres Church Hall.
Leighton Smith, a volunteer co-ordinator at Loft 115, said: “For some young people, Friday night means hanging around on the streets, getting into trouble with their mates.
“The youngsters who attend our sessions enjoy a much more productive and engaging Friday evening where, through a range of activities, sports and games, we foster a real sense of community spirit.”
