OLDHAM has lost its only Green councillor after Failsworth West councillor Ian Barker resigned from the party.
He said he felt uncomfortable with the party’s recent stands on national and international issues.
Councillor Barker said: “I will stand as an independent councillor in next year’s local elections.”
Next month’s local election sees two Green Party candidates hoping to gain a seat — Miranda Meadowcroft in Failsworth West and Dominic Wall in Saddleworth South.
