CANVASSING for votes... Caroline Flint (centre) with local Labour councillor Jean Stretton and Labour volunteer Ross Haynes
LOCAL Labour candidates were joined on the campaign trail by the Shadow Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government.
Caroline Flint, MP for Don Valley since 1997, paid a visit to Hollins to meet local voters.
The former Minister of State for Housing and Planning and Minister for Europe knocked on doors in Vaal Street, Kimberley Street and Durban Street to drum up the Labour vote ahead of the local elections on May 5.
She said: “It’s been great to get out on the doorstep and meet local people and find out how they are feeling ahead of the local elections. It’s also good to listen to their concerns and let them know what we can do to help.”
