Town Centre Partnership
A BIKE race will bring a half-a-million-pound boost to the town centre economy.
An estimated £500,000 will be spent in one day when the UK Halfords Cycling Tour Series comes to town on June 9.
Oldham has been picked to host one of 10 rounds in the national event.
With full coverage on ITV4 and local news stations, the town centre partnership board believes extra income will follow.
Deputy council leader and board member Jackie Stanton said: “This is another example that Oldham is open for business, even though we have major projects.”
