Oldham Parish Church: business as usual
Business as usual at Oldham Parish Church.
Scaffolding and safety hoarding shroud the rear of the church as work to replace the flat roofs over the two vestries and the connecting corridor takes place.
The repairs also involve safety work on stone pinnacles which have become unstable.
The vicar of Oldham, the Rev Derek Palmer, said: “There has been some water ingress, which is always the problem with flat roofs when they get old.”
Contractors CSC are expected to finish the work towards the end of June, and the cost is being met from the church building fund.
